We're pleased to share that Andrea Silbernagel is now a partner at Fort Vancouver Investment Management. Having joined FVIM as an Advisor in 2022, Andrea brings valuable expertise in tax and financial planning. We asked her a few questions:
Tell us what brought you to our team.
I met Matt over two decades ago, but in the last five years we began discussing how the intersection of our professions—financial planning and taxes—could synergize and enhance client service. This exploration prompted me to obtain my Independent Advisor Representative license, a step that allowed me to approach financial services from a holistic perspective.
I was drawn to the fee-only, fiduciary firm model and was quickly won over by the group’s commitment to creating a collaborative environment where client needs come first. Paired with Rob's vision for establishing a long-term succession plan to support lifetime relationships and their families, it quickly became evident that I wanted to be part of the team.
The alignment of values, commitment to excellence, and genuine focus on client well-being convinced me that joining FVIM was not only a good professional opportunity but would also be personally edifying. I am excited to contribute to the firm's legacy and play a role in shaping its future success.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
In my spare time, I cherish moments with my four children, each bringing their unique energy and perspective to our lives. My husband and I enjoy hiking and small construction projects like building sheds or churches in Mexico. We also love to savor new foods and cultures. I'm a superhero at list-making, occasional beach runner, terrible gardener (but I keep sowing) and thoroughly enjoy photographing my family as we strike silly poses with statues across America.
What are your key strengths and areas of expertise?
My key strengths revolve around serving clients effectively in tax and financial matters. With over 10 years of tax experience and holding an Enrolled Agent license, I specialize in navigating the complexities of tax regulations. Moreover, recently passing the CFP exam underscores my dedication to comprehensive financial planning. I excel in translating tax information into easily understandable language and providing prompt, clear responses to client inquiries.
What are you most excited about as you embark in your new role as partner at FVIM?
I'm most excited about getting to work with the talented and thoughtful team at FVIM every day, collaborating to innovate and uphold our shared values. It's truly a blessing to engage in a role that enriches client relationships, fosters new connections, and ensures our track record of sensible guidance and excellent service.
